If you have been visiting this website for a while you may remember a feature back in 2003 called Xtreme Taco. That truck belonged to Jason Fonte and so does this truck. There have been many changes on this website since then and the style of Jason's new project has changed as well. This 2006 Chevrolet 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel LBZ was built to include some styling cues from today's coolest trucks while remaining as low profile as possible. Not everything needs to be flashy and in-your-face to be cool.   An essential in both of Jason's trucks has been their big lift kits and attention to detail. This Chevy was taken to Extreme Trucks in Aliso Viejo, California to receive a CST 11-inch lift, HD leveling cogs, SST HD tie rod ends with heim joints, custom traction bars, and 6 Fox Shocks with reservoirs to dampen the road or anything he might decide to run over. For towing, Jason decided to go with custom mounted rear air bags. The air compressor and tank are mounted in spare tire well while the gauge with switches are mounted to the hitch. After seeing his truck, the feature could only be named Rockstar because of the impact that the 24-inch by 12-inch KMC Rockstar wheels have on the look of this truck. They are big, they are coated in black, and they still make a huge statement. They are wrapped in 37 x 13.5 x 24-inch Toyo Open Country MT tires. All of the powder coating was done at Xtreme Motor Toyz in Simi Valley, California as well as the air bags and traction bars.

While the factory color of Jason's Duramax was exactly what he wanted, there were some changes on the horizon for the rest of the truck. The stock grille was painted matte black as well as a billet grill and bowtie emblem. All of the mouldings and other emblems were removed. The factory mirrors were replaced with Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirror's and the factory fuel door was removed to be replaced with a billet fuel door cover in matte black finish. Jason forked over a big chunk of change for and HID headlight and fog light conversion. A matte black Stubbie antenna also took the place if it's stock counterpart. To get into the truck, Amp Research running boards were installed. When the door opens, the running board drops down so Jason can step in. The bed received a coating of Line-X bed liner.

The truck interior was completely removed and rebuilt at Audio Concepts and More. Jose and his crew covered all the body panels with Dynomat for sound and vibration dampening. Then it was time to craft a loud but still clean sounding audio system. A Pioneer Z1 head unit with DVD, mp3, touch screen, XM, Sirius, GPS navigation, and iPod interface was the perfect fit for all of Jason's needs. Another addition was an integrated rear back up camera for towing. The rear of the cab got some attention by way of a custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure wrapped in suede and carpet housing two JL Audio 12W3v3-4 subwoofers. The JL Audio 500/1 and 450/4 amplifiers are also housed in a custom fiberglass rack wrapped in suede and carpet. All of the doors had custom door pods built for them. The front doors each have two sets of JL Audio VR650-CXi component speakers. The rear doors have two sets each of the JL Audio VR535-CXi component speakers. Custom A-pillars were built to house tweeters. The rear headrests were cut and now contain 7.5-inch monitors. To get the interior finished, Katzkin supplied two tone leather for the seats in the front and rear. The headliner, visors, and center console was also covered  in Katzkin suede.

To get this monster rolling, the factory motor was upgraded with RBP Performance fuel additive, Super Chips FlashPak Programmer, and Tuned with EFI Live by SoCal Diesel. The truck breathes easier with a Volant CAI system and the exhaust is an RBP 4-inch turbo-back system with a 5-inch RBP ceramic coated matte black tip.
