When Chevrolet used their old ad campaign to let potential buyers know that Chevy Trucks are "Like a Rock", Mike Huemoller from Brea, California must have been watching. The 2003 Chevy 2500 Heavy Duty 4x4 truck that he owns is an exhibit of that advertising slogan. His lifted Chevy can be used for work or show while it grabs some attention from other Chevy owners along the way.

Mike wanted a stance that would be high enough for a good overall look but still have adjustability in the rear for towing. The truck was taken to CVN Motorsports in Brea, California where the crew removed the stock suspension and painted the frame to match the exterior of the truck.  The lift kit, made by CVN for the rear and by Full Throttle for the front was taken to Custom Enamellers and  powder coated in candy blue. CVN Motorsports then installed the Full Throttle 12-inch lift kit with 2-inch torsion keys in the front.  With the leaf springs removed, a custom Cyclone Fabrication 3 link and triple convoluted air bags were installed in the rear.  The rear suspension setup allows 18 inches of travel. Fox Racing shocks with reservoirs were installed at all four corners. A set of 16.5" x 12" Weld Stone Crusher wheels with 42-inch Super Swamper TSL  tires are able to get the truck moving using 4:10 ratio gears. The trucks cross-members were replaced with custom round tube work and the e-brake mount was cut into a flame pattern.

The body of the truck was treated to tribal flame graphics in candy blue and silver by Sticker Shocks in Brea, California. The front end sports a chrome Street Scene speed grille to match the grille shell and part of the bumper. The door handles were switched out for the smoother looking Cadillac Escalade handles. CVN also helped with those changes to Mike's truck. The bed was then sprayed by Line-X to keep it from rusting and losing it's clean appeal. For Mike to be able to get into the truck, a set of Kodiak electric drop-down steps were also installed.

Powering the beast is the stock motor with a K&N Filter installed. A Flowmaster exhaust with 3.5-inch piping was also installed to beef up the horsepower a little.

Inside the cab, the stock interior was spruced up with blue suede inserts in the seats and the door panels to match the suspension and graphics on the outside. There are also blue  Chevy bowtie's embroidered into the headrests. All of that was accomplished by Advanced Specialties in La Habra, California. The dash needed some attention so Mike asked CVN to install a gauge cluster and dash trim piece out of a GMC Denali. The stock stereo was removed and discarded for a audio and video setup that Mike could enjoy more. AS Kustomz added a Kenwood head unit and Bazooka speakers to replaced the old ones. They also built a custom subwoofer box behind the rear seat housing 4 Bazooka triangle subwoofers. Then the Bazooka P. Miller series amplifiers and Sony Playstation 2 were installed under the rear seat. A 7-inch Accelle swivel monitor was installed in the front console area for Mike's viewing pleasure on long road trips or other times of boredom.

Mike would like to thank CVN Motorsports, AS Kustomz, Cyclone Fabrication, Bazooka, and Line-X. Special thanks from myself and Mike to Julie Haffey for posing for the feature and Chad from CVN for the use of his awesome house as our backdrop.
