On the West Coast, there is nothing better when it comes to trucks than a custom ride you can also fit a few friends into. The popularity of crew cab trucks is at an all time high. Carl Ledsworth from Simi Valley, California rolls around in this 2002 Ford F150 Supercrew. He has made modifications to every aspect of his crew cab including the rear seating but he still has room for himself and three friends.

Carl's 'crew gets down to the pavement thanks to the guys at Totally Polished. The front of his truck was 'bagged using Firestone air bags, DJM control arms, and DJM drop spindles. The rear received a different treatment including 'bags, customs 2-link, and polished aluminum Watts link. The truck gets adjustability by way of eight 5/8-inch GC valves, 1/2-inch air line, three firestone compressors, and two chrome 3-gallon air tanks. The wheels are a set of 20-inch Jesse James .38's.

The truck body was in need of some attention and Carl gave it just what it needed. The tailgate handle and emblems were shaved by Totally Polished. The bumper, wiper cowl, and roll pan were replaced by their Street Scene aftermarket counterparts.  The Street Scene wiper cowl was also shaved of it's wiper holes for an even smoother look. The front end was updated with upper & lower billet grilles and clear corner lights. The headlights were upgraded to HID headlights. The tailights were also removed and replaced with clear lights in order to match the front. The roof is wide open at times when Carl slides back the Street Beat Customs rag top.

An interior installer by trade, Carl had to make his interior comfortable and custom at the same time. The stock dash, door panels, seats, and everything else that could be pulled out, were pulled out and wrapped. Blue and grey suede covers most of the stock parts and the seats were wrapped in leather with suede inserts. A Dakota Digital air pressure gauge was molded into the dash. The grab handles were pulled off and custom 1-off handles were made to match the Jesse James wheels. Other billet items were added including pedals and a custom made cruise control switch. The stereo system had to be loud in Carl's west coast cruiser so he started with a Pioneer in-dash flip up monitor with navigation, XM Satellite Radio, 6-disc CD changer and DVD player. The door speakers were replaced with Orion P6.2 for midrange and tweeters. The amplifier rack behind the rear seats hold a Orion 2500D amplifier to power the four p-series 12-inch subs and a Orion 800.4 to power the midranges and tweeters. The amplifiers pull a little extra power from a Directed Electronics Inc. 1.5 Farad capacitor. All of the wiring is also from DEI. The headrests didn't go untouched. They were cut and Pioneer 6-1/2-inch monitors were installed before wrapping them in matching suede. The bed also got a monitor but this one is a big 15-inch with a swing arm so Carl can watch at shows or whenever he is just sitting around having a tailgate party.

One thing about this truck that makes people stop and really examine it is the custom made intake. It has dual cones and is fully chrome to bring in a lot of air and look great at the same time. The wiring was all cleaned up and covered with blue wire loom. The truck gets it's starting and entertainment power from two EFX 1200 amp batteries.
