Getting into customizing vehicles isn't a choice for
everyone. Some people just get pulled into it after being an onlooker for a
long period of time. Bill Holderby from Moreno Valley, California is a mobile DJ
and owns a company called Just 4 Fun Productions. Bill has been providing
music for car shows all over California. He started with a stock, base model GMC
Pickup truck that was missing most of the comforts of today's pickups. It had no
power accessories and even had a rubber floor mat instead of carpet. After
spending some time at shows with a few mild modifications and losing to other
trucks, Bill decided to make his work truck a trophy winner.
Bill's equipment hauler get it's lowered stance by
way of an air suspension system. It includes four Firestone air bags with 1/2 line.
Front and
rear switches mounted to the dash control the air supplied by two chrome 5 gallon
air tanks and two ViAir compressors mounted under the truck in the spare tire area.
There are also 2-inch drop
spindles for the front and all of the suspension was installed by Tom at Auto
Accessory Warehouse. The wheels are 20-inch Erotica with Michelin tires.
The truck was cleaned up and prepared for paint but Bill still had
a few things to add first. A steel roll pan from Sir Micheals, Innovation tonneau cover, Stull billet grill,
and cowl
induction hood were all installed to change the stock appearance. The GMC was
covered in custom paint by Wayne at Berdo Auto Body with tribal flames by Little
Louie in San Bernardino, California. After the paint, a chrome bumper, cat-eye
headlights, and APC
mirrors were added. Auto Accessory Warehouse also added two full blue neon
body kits under the truck.
The cab and bed were fully recovered in tweed including the door panels,
headliner, sub
enclosure, seat, dash, floor, bed-floor, bed-sides, and under the tonneau cover by Ernie
at Quality Upholstery in Bloomington, California. Empire Motor Sports in Rancho Cucamonga,
California is where Bill got all the billet accessories for the dash and door
panels. A tribal steering wheel from Billet Accessories Direct in
Oklahoma replaced the stock steering wheel. Two Audiobahn tribal amps were
wired up to give power into the four 10-inch inch Polk subs in custom box
behind the seat. For mids and highs, Bill added two 4x6-inch Pioneer speakers were
installed in the door pillars. Boston Acoustic 6-inch mids and 1-inch tweeters
were added to the doors. The music is supplied by an Alpine flip-up 7-inch
monitor/head unit with 6 disc CD
changer. Bill also can watch DVD's on the two 7-inch monitors installed in the sun visors by
Auto Accessory Warehouse.
The stock 305 engine was kept but Bill decided to add a little jump
to it. The JBA headers under-drive pulleys, and Jet Performance computer chip
add a little power to the truck. A Flowmaster
exhaust add some sound and airflow along with a K&N air filter. The engine was
dressed up with more billet from Empire Motor Sports but it was all chrome
plated so Bill could keep the daily shine without a ton of polishing work.
With all of these modifications to his daily
driven work truck, Bill will be as busy keeping it clean for shows as he is when
he is at the shows playing music for everyone to enjoy.
Bill would like to thank all the companies and
people that helped with his buildup including, Auto Accessory Warehouse, Erotica
Wheels, Wayne at Berdo Auto Body, and Little Louie.
